Team Rocks and Ropes and the Tucson Climbing Project were honored enough to get a personal invite from the amazing people at the Climber's Association of Southern Arizona (CASA) to participate in their Mt. Lemmon clean and climb! This consisted of taking time to clean up trash from designated areas along Mt. Lemmon highway as a way to give back to the outdoor climbing areas we all love so much. It was a well organized event and a ton of fun as they came prepared with raffle prizes and all necessary equipment.
Myself, coaches Luke and Cory, and Tanner, Claire, Davin, Alex and Reed all took time out of their Saturday to help out. We were tasked with cleaning up the stretch of road in Bear Canyon, where we spend about and hour and a half and filled up our bags. Not to mention finding two huge 20ft steel pipes!
After dropping off our garbage and getting our raffle prizes we hiked out to Middle Earth for a few hours of climbing. We all had a blast getting on The Breeze, Delirious and Irresistible. It felt good to get a little bonus outdoor time along with some community service work.
TCP looks forward to working with CASA more in the future!
